Hyonate 10 mg/ml Solution for Injection (2 x 2ml)
Hyonate 10mg/ml Solution for Injection is important for maintaining normal joint function and also has anti-inflammatory properties. Strict aseptic technique should be followed when injecting Hyonate. As with any intra-articular procedure, good disinfection at the injection site and limitations in animals are very important. Excess synovial fluid must be removed aseptically before injection. Be careful not to scratch the cartilage surface with the tip of the injection needle. Diffuse swelling, which lasts 24-48 hours, may result from needle irritation in the joint space. For best results, the horse should have a steady rest after intra-articular treatment for three days before gradually restoring normal activity. It can be administered intravenously (IV) or intra-articularly (directly into the joint). The treatment can be repeated a total of three times at weekly intervals.
Hyonate 10mg/ml Solution for Injection is a clear colorless solution for injection. Each ml contains Sodium Hyaluronate 10 mg. For the treatment of lameness in horses due to non-infectious inflammation of joints. Hyonate is for intravenous or intra-articular administration. The recommended dose is Intravenous administration: 4 ml corresponding to 40 mg sodium hyaluronate. In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label. People with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product. Sometimes after intraarticular application, you can see a common reaction (swelling, tenderness, lameness) that in most cases disappears spontaneously after a few days.
Precaution of use
Hyonate can be kept at room temperature (below 25C), it doesn’t need to be refrigerated.
Hyonate can be given safely alongside NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs).
